  • First Impressions
    • The first thing that came to my mind when I first received it was that it was a muted, darkish rainbow. Not quite beastly, but not buttery soft or fluffy either. I felt that it needed more loving to completely break it in. It felt heavier so it made me curious about its wrapping qualities.
    • It was my 1st time to try a twill weave and I loved it!
  • First Uppy
    • This wrap is grippy. Hello half-knot! Passes in a FWCC fall into place with a bit of tightening and won't budge even if my little seat popper tries valiantly to pop her seat.
    • It comes with an abundance of sleepy dust. 5-10 minutes in and she's snoring like a train. (I am obviously exaggerating the noise!)
  • Final Impressions
    • This is a gorgeous beater wrap! I love the support, the cush, the airiness, and most of all, I love the fact that its easy to take care of!
    • I live in the hot and humid tropical island of Cebu, Philippines so my carriers MUST be breathable at all times. I used the Prism Surprise to wear by toddler during a novena mass for Sto. Nino festivities. It was crowded and hot, and people were pushing other folks around in their quest to get good seats or a spot in the shade but I didn't break a sweat!
    • This wrap is forgiving of sloppy and rushed wrap jobs except when you are obsessive-compulsive because you would want to display the rainbow just so!
    • Because its 100% Organic Cotton, caring for it is a breeze! Just remember not to hang it under direct sunlight so colors would remain vibrant.
    • I find that since this wrap needed more breaking in, back carries were sloppy given my squirmy, wriggly, and screaming toddler. I had to wait until she falls asleep before I could tighten and remove the slack from the carry. But as soon as its tightened properly, it doesn't budge. Even if she bounces up and down, this wrap stays in place.
    • I imagine this would be an absolute joy to wrap with when its completely broken in! That said, I would recommend this wrap to newbies if they buy one that's already broken in or if they are willing to holiday it over to someone who will break it in for them. This is one wrap that would survive from squish to the end of your babywearing journey.

Review:

  • First Impressions
    • It was sooo colorful. The color is perfect for summer or those days when you just want a splash of color to brighten up an otherwise gloomy day.
    • I couldn't get over how soft it already was. Not quite buttery soft but definitely on its way there. To think I am just the 4th tester on the list!
  • First Uppy
    • I was amazed by the support it offered! My baby is on the petite side but this WCMT is more supportive than some wraps in single layer carries. I wore her for 5 hours with no pain, no constant adjustments, bub stayed safe and snug all throughout.
    • Amelie is almost a year and a half and although she is on the petite side, the panel does not suppport her legs from knee pit to knee pit anymore. This is where the wrap style straps come in handy. I know that knee pit to knee pit is not necessary once bub is already a toddler but it feels more comfortable for both me and my baby with that added support.
    • The jacquard weave and the organic cotton is definitely breathable and airy. I live in the tropical island of Cebu, Philippines so this is a major requirement for me. No sweaty bub and mom is not sweating, too!
  • Final Impressions
    • This WCMT is perfect for those mommas who want the cushiness, flexibility, airiness, and support woven wraps offer but find that wrapping takes up too much effort and too much time.
    • I love how breathable and supportive it is for my toddler. I love how easy it is to breastfeed in it. Its packed with sleepy dust and playful orange and pink color - draws attention like a magnet, I tell you.
    • I am very short so tying the straps was a bit of challenge since I didn't want them to fall on the ground (hello OC). I find that knotting them to make the straps shorter solved this beautifully. The padded portion also reached my shoulder blades. Oh the problems of being short!
    • I like how I am able to use different finishes on a back carry. I love how my seat popper is unable to pop her seat!!! She is also a crazy leaner so getting her tight and snug is a priority - not an issue with this fluffy WCMT!
    • I used this beautiful and playful carrier to a birthday pool party, to pick up my 3 older kids from school, to finish chores at home, to get a cranky teething toddler to sleep, to the novena masses for the Sr. Sto. Nino festival, and even to bid my husband goodbye.
    • If finances permit, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Daiesu WCMT but this time in a toddler size :)

Review:

  • First Impressions
    • I loved the color and how it seemed to shimmer under the light. I felt like it was the perfect Blue Christmas wrap. The pattern was gorgeous and elegant.
    • I immediately noticed that it was thicker and rougher than the wraps that I have tried before. It definitely needed more breaking in to make it softer and more moldable.
  • 1st Uppy
    • I was blown away by the support this wrap offers! And yes, it was thick and oh sooo grippy. No need for a double knot! The thickness and the weave makes it forgiving of sloppy and rushed wrap jobs.
Breastfeeding at night when she insists on an uppy
  • Final Impressions
    • My petite toddler is a leaner and a seat popper. And because she is so petite, I prefer high back carries over those that have a chest pass so she can see over my shoulder. She nurses like a newborn so back carries are usually limited to 2 hours or so. I found this wrap to be extremely supportive and cushy. My base is size 6 so Imagine Blue Ice with its long tapers on a size 5 made it challenging for me to not tie on the tapers. While that can be done, I found that slack eventually found its way into the wrap job after some time. I had to take the time to tighten the wrap job carefully and evenly so the knot would not fall on the tapers.
Sleepy Dust Magic captured!
She was nursing at this time.
    • The thickness and the jacquard weave made this wrap cushy and forgiving of not so good wrap jobs. Dealing with a cranky toddler who wants the milky right away made it mandatory for me to wrap as fast as possible so I really appreciate the cush this wrap provides.
    • I'm used to glidey and slippery wraps so tightening this far-from-broken-in wrap took more work than I'm used to. But once tightened, it provided a very snug and very supportive wrap job which required My daughter tried to escape several back carries to no avail! She stays in place!
Nothing beats the sleepy dust of a woven wrap!
    • The weave is thicker but is still breathable in our hot and humid tropical weather as long as you stay indoors and avoid the heat of the unforgiving sun.
Wrapping with a cranky and wriggly toddler
    • This wrap is perfect for those with toddlers or heavy babies. I would love to have one in my base size, preferably already and completely broken in.
